Meet the Founder

Hi, I’m Ottilie, although most people call me Tilly, the artist behind Beach & Bloom Studio. I live in beautiful Cornwall, where the coastline, wild flowers, natural textures, and ever-changing sea views inspire so much of my work. Every piece I create is designed to bring a sense of warmth, calm, and natural beauty into your home.

Sumptuous Textured Florals

Framed floral mosaic art with yellow sunflowers, white daisies, pink roses, and green leaves, set on a beige couch next to three lit candles.
A pink canvas with 3D artificial flowers in various colors including purple, white, yellow, pink, and blue, arranged to resemble a floral painting, is placed on a small wooden table in a room with a window in the background showing greenery outside.

Creativity found me again when I needed it most.

I’ve always been creative, but my journey into art came later in life. After becoming a young mum, I went on to study mental health and psychology and now work as a lecturer at a local college — a role I genuinely love. Like many people balancing busy lives, I found myself needing a creative outlet and a little more balance. Returning to painting reconnected me with the part of myself that had always loved creating.

Texture, nature, and the coast are at the heart of everything I create.

Today, I create original mixed media artwork including textured floral paintings and coastal-inspired shell art using acrylics, inks, oil sticks, textured mediums, and natural sea shells. I’m inspired by the colours and textures found along the Cornish coast, and I love creating artwork that feels organic, layered, and full of character.

One thing you’ll quickly learn about me is that I don’t like being confined to one style. I love the freedom that art gives me — experimenting with texture, colour, and natural materials to create pieces that feel personal, timeless, and unique. My hope is that when someone brings one of my artworks into their home, they feel a real connection to it.

I never want creativity to feel confined.

When I’m not painting, you’ll usually find me walking along the Cornwall coastline with a coffee in hand, headphones on, and an audiobook playing — usually dreaming up my next piece along the way.

The sea, a coffee, and a good audiobook — my perfect reset.
